Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez have officially filed for divorce after two years of marriage

Ariana Grande and estranged husband Dalton Gomez officially filed for dissolution of their marriage on Monday, The Times has confirmed.

The Grammy winner, who is represented by “Diso Queen” divorce attorney Laura Wasser, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the two-year marriage.

Gomez quickly filed her response, which was said to be a concerted effort before the filing. According to TMZ, the couple has a prenuptial agreement.

Their separation date was recorded as 20 February. The “7 Rings” singer married Gomez in May 2021 at her Montecito home after a five-month engagement.

Representatives for Grande and Gomez did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment Monday.

The couple has reportedly kept some physical distance between them over the past few months, as the two-time Grammy Award winner began filming the adaptation of John Chu’s stage musical “Wicked” in London.

People reports that the “Position” singer, 30, and the luxury real estate agent, 27, have been “quietly and lovingly working on their friendship” since the split. Sources at Us Weekly claimed in July that Grande and Gomez “have been having some issues for a few months now.”

“Before he went (to London) to film ‘Wicked,’ they had issues that they couldn’t resolve, and the distance didn’t help. They’re not talking and have grown apart, and may be getting divorced,” the US source said.

Shortly after Gomez and Grande’s split went public, the “Thank You, Next” singer’s romance with “Wicked” co-star Ethan Slater was revealed. Days later, Slater quickly moved on to his wife, singer Lily J — with whom he shares a 1-year-old son — The Times confirmed. While it’s unclear whether their breakup was related to Slater’s alleged romance with her co-star, Jay told Page Six, “My family is collateral damage.”

According to Page Six, Grande and Gomez’s pandemic-era romance entered troubled waters when COVID-19 restrictions were eased and Gomez was “surprised” by the pop star’s demanding schedule.
